Personal Training

Our Approach

Optimizing exercise can be a challenging task. There are a multitude of factors that should be taken into account for each individual. It takes a great deal of understanding to balance the variables and generate a desired outcome. Fortunately the Mind Body team is uniquely qualified. Our in depth understanding of exercise, personal training, biomechanics, recovery, injury prevention and rehabilitation combined with our background in the competitive fitness arena, creates a very unique skill set that allows our clients to reach a higher level of health and fitness than ever before.

We feel that working one on one with our clients in a live setting gives us the opportunity to make the most efficient progress. This is a true patient centered model where your goals become our goals. Every client gets to set their own definition of what success looks like. We then tailor a program that takes all of your individual variables into account. No more taking one step forward and one step back when training with injuries. No more guess work on training intensity, volume, and frequency. No more struggling with mind muscle connection or lagging body parts. Let us do what we do best… Solve problems! Start training your body and mind with an individualized approach that educates and prepares you for long term success.

We specialize in working with clients who are training with injuries, fitness competitors who want to take their physique to the next level, individuals focused on longevity, and professionals trying to optimize their time in the gym.

Coaching Options

IN PERSON TRAINING

Client centered one on one training sessions ranging from 40-55 min in duration. These can be done bi-weekly as a regular part of our exercise program, or at less frequent intervals that best meet your needs. Often single sessions are used to tweak techniques for specific lifts/patterns, improve mind muscle connection, reduce over activation of non targeted muscle groups, or simply to modify your routine to best prioritize your goals.

VIRTUAL TRAINING

Some of our trainers offer an online  option to allow clients to take advantage of our training philosophy in the comfort and convince of their own home/ training studio.

WRITTEN PROGRAMS

Written training programs are included with many of our health/nutrition coaching programs. We do offer single training programs if you are not working with one of our health/nutrition coaches but want to take your training program to the next level.

Ethan Brown PT, DPT, COMT, CIDN

Ethan, founder of Mind Body Physio, began his passion for health and exercise while still in high school. Initially his focus was in Mixed Martial Arts, however in 2007 he had a severe motorcycle accident that left him unable to continue MMA training. Unwilling to stop exercising, he began focusing primarily on weightlifting and bodybuilding while recovering from his multiple ankle surgeries. Bodybuilding became his passion, and for over 10 years now he has been competing, personal training, coaching, and furthering his understanding of how to optimize the body. His passion for exercise, biomechanics, education, and helping others to achieve their goals led him to pursue his Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree. Ethan graduated from Bellarmine University with his DPT degree in 2016. After graduating and realizing the limitations in the typical Western medicine Physical Therapy model, Ethan knew he wanted to improve the standard of care for his patients. He and his wife created Mind Body Physio, where patients receive private one on one treatments, which allow his patients to heal faster with less visits than in a traditional physical therapy clinic. Ethan is a COMT (Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist) through Maitland and is currently pursuing an AAOMPT Fellowship with the Maitland-Australian Physiotherapy Organization which is recognized worldwide as the highest level of clinical excellence in Orthopedic Manual Therapy.

Robert Pawley, CPT

Robert specializes in physique based nutrition coaching and personal training/body transformation. Robert’s fitness journey and passion for helping others reach their goals began in high school. When he wasn’t hitting the books, he was hitting the field. He competed in various sports including track and field, football, and powerlifting. He realized he loved training, competing, and learning about how to optimize the human body’s potential. Along with this, he began to explore methods to better manage the side effects of his autoimmune disease, Hashimoto’s. It was then that he really began to dive deeper into the effects of nutrition and how it plays a role in bodily inflammation and performance. He learned how to optimize his thyroid and metabolic function through nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle modifications. This process led him to competitive bodybuilding which soon became a great passion that continued to improve his understanding of the body. During preparation for his first competition he switched from a Nursing to a Kinesiology major at Morehead State University. He became a personal trainer and earned a scholarship as a student athletic trainer. With these new opportunities to learn, work with others, and exercise a multitude of hands-on skills, the vision was clear that he loved helping others to have a better quality of life. He now works with clients on optimal recovery techniques, sport specific coaching, general health, and weight loss and physique transformations.
